JMCA Community Meeting

September 19, 2018 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Mount Eagle Elementary School Cafeteria
6116 N Kings Hwy
Alexandria, VA 22303

The JMCA bi-monthly community meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19 at 7:00 PM at the Mount Eagle Elementary School Cafeteria.

Membership will be asked to vote on an amendment to the JMCA Bylaws. The amendment may be reviewed at the link at the bottom of this page:

Resident and Advisory Committee Member for Embark Chris Soule will provide a brief update on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors’ approval of the Embark Amendment and what it means for the future of the Richmond Highway corridor. We will also be asking residents in attendance to participate in a short (and fun!) design charrette.

Chris and the JMCA worked to add language written into the Embark amendment that could provide an opportunity to address some of the road design safety issues of North Kings Highway, between Fort Drive and School Street specifically. The JMCA sees this as an opportunity to carry some of the multimodal and pedestrian safety goals of Richmond Highway thru to North Kings Highway.

Alexis Glenn, JMCA President, will be providing input to the County as the process of implementing Embark strategies begins. In preparation to provide input, the design charrette will help define safety concerns and goals from the Jefferson Manor community.
I hope you will join us and help shape the future of Jefferson Manor!

All JMCA events and meetings are KID-FRIENDLY unless otherwise noted (e.g. the Adult Holiday Happy Hour).

It’s time to join or renew your JMCA membership! We will be accepting cash, credit, and checks, any household, owner or renter, can join! Annual membership fees are $20 per household, $10 for seniors, and $35 if you purchase two years in advance.
