Lee District Association of Citizen Associations (LDACO) Monthly Meeting: FCPS School Superintendent Dr. Karen Garza @ Franconia Governmental Center | Franconia | Virginia | United States
Dear Community leaders,
I would like to take a moment and re-introduce LDACO to you and your communities.  I was elected as Chair last May after ten years of involvement in the Jefferson Manor Civic Assoc and three years as the Lee rep to the Fairfax Federation.  My goal for this upcoming year is to begin crafting the LDACO to be a more useful organization to the communities and residents of Lee District.  A first step in that direction is our line up of speakers for our meetings to start the year.  Please share with your community members:

January 27th – Code enforcement featuring speakers from county staff, with a focus on new regulations

Feb 24th – Ad-hoc police reform committee featuring Chief Roesseler
March 30th – County and FCPS budget hearing featuring Supervisor McKay, School Rep Tamara Kaufax and county budget staff
April 27th – FCPS School Superintendent Dr. Karen Garza
May 25th – Legislative update from Lee district Delegates and Senators.
While I know my part of Lee District well, I realize that there is much to learn about all of your communities and associations.  To that end, I would very much like to spend the next few months meeting you all as well as other leaders of your neighborhoods.  What challenges and successes are you having?  Do you have any best practices that could be shared with other communities?  How do you see LDACO fitting in with these?  LDACO’s future successes are bounded by our members’ involvement, and my number one priority is to increase that involvement.  You can join our LDACO group on Facebook and share your community photos, events and newsletters.  We will start increasing our information sharing as well to keep folks up to speed on what’s happening in the district.
Chris Soule
Chairman, LDACO
