This neighborhood tradition showcases our unique Jefferson Manor properties. Have a smart home renovation, DIY project, or landscape inspiration to show? Show off your home, yard (or both!), it’s up to you. You pick what to show and what is off-limits. Just backyard, only kitchen, main floor, etc.

The tour, hosted by the JMCA, was named for Al & Sandy Snyder in 2013. The Snyders bought their first home as newlyweds in Jefferson Manor in 1947. They raised their three children here and lived in the Manor until 2011.

Community Yard Sale @ 6020 Monticello Road for community sale
Sep 10 all-day
The community yard sale is back! There are four ways to participate!
1. Bring your stuff to the communal yard at 6020 Monticello Road. Be your own seller!
2. Donate new, gently used, and nice things (no junk please) to the “Name Your Own Price” section of the communal yard. 100% of the money raised from this section will go to Mount Eagle Elementary! Donations will be collected August 19 – 21, August 26 – 28, and again on September 9. You will not get these items back. See post for instructions on how to donate.
3. Volunteer to help at the communal yard! We need volunteers to help put the items out, interact with customers, and pack up the remaining items at the end of the day. We’ll have mimosas!
4. Set up in your own yard – we’ll add you to a map that will be distributed electronically and in-person. You put up your own signs (7 maximum per country regulations) to direct people to your yard. If you’d like to donate some of your proceeds (10% suggestion) to Mount Eagle, then we will help facilitate that!

November Community Mtg and Movie Night
Nov 4 @ 6:30 pm – 8:45 pm

Jefferson Manor residents are invited to attend our community’s bi-monthly meeting followed by a viewing of  The Lego Movie. JMCA membership is not required; however, you are welcome to join or renew for 2023 while there!

DETAILS: We are trying something new for adults and kids alike! Bundle up, bring something to sit on plus an electric blanket and extension cord if you want, and certainly BYOB. We’ll have some things to share, of course. The JMCA Community Meeting will kick off at 6:30 pm outside. JMCA President Derek Cole will give updates from his meeting with Fairfax County’s Franconia District Supervisor Rodney Lusk. We’ll also talk about the fun coming up in December.

Immediately afterward, we will watch The Lego Movie on a large outdoor screen supplied by neighbor Sarah Daley. If you can’t come to the meeting but want to join us for the movie—that is allowed! Runtime is 1 hour and 40 minutes, so we’ll get you home by the time it gets much colder. The Lego Movie is hilarious whether you are 8 or 48. We’ve checked the rules and requirements – movie night is a go!
